Warehouse 13: A Touch of Fever by Greg Cox

Hidden away in the Badlands of South Dakota, Warehouse 13 is a top-secret repository for historical artifacts imbued with dangerous supernatural properties. Secret Service agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering are ever on the lookout for loose artifacts threatening to ruin the world’s day. Their mission:“Snag it, bag it, tag it.”

Reports of a genuine psychic healer, along with a simultaneous epidemic of mysterious illnesses, lead Myka and Pete on a hazardous investigation that stretches from a carnival sideshow back to the bloody history of the Civil War. But when Pete is infected with a deadly disease, Myka and the rest of the team, including Artie Nielsen and Claudia Donovan, must track down a pair of cursed gloves—before a madman unleashes a virulent plague upon America!

W13 is never better than when it hams it up, yet balances that hamminess with a continuation of an ongoing character arc. Oh Artie. Artie Artie Artie It was the artifact that killed Leena, not you! Thankfully, Jinksy and Claudia are 'on the case', with Claudia expertly manipulating Artie into going out in the field to track down a classic car thief who may be using an artifact to steal said cars. But is getting Artie out into the field a good idea? Sadly, this is the B story to the main one involving Myka and Pete getting sucked into an unfinished 's detective novel-now-artifact.

As of July , this articel said "Instead it deals with the trials and tribulations of a floundering relationship, telling her lover in the song that " She has described the song as being about the power of love, in that it can create such intense emotion that all rational thought is overpowered. My impression is that its a genderswapping fantasy. A woman's reassurance to her male lover that minor pain from intercourse is OK, and a desire to exchange subjective knowledge of male and female experience of sex. Maybe a little too risque for Wikipedia?

I must admit I was never much of a fan of Kate Bush's original Running up that hill, I always preferred the Placebo version. Running up that hill is probably one of the most covered songs in the history of pop music and it is also one of the most used on television. Last week I heard it on Warehouse 13, one of my guilty pleasure shows, where it was used in the heartbreaking finale. The song is a perfect choice and I don't think I was the only one to have tears in their eyes However, it was not the Placebo version they used. So I did some digging and it turns out this version was done by a band called Track and Field.

View in iTunes. If you are at all familiar with this Kate Bush song, this version will get your immediate attention. The fact that it is tied to one of the most powerful and memorable scenes in Warehouse 13 makes this a "must have" version for your music library. There are many dozens of versions of this song on iTunes but this is the best short of the original. This stripped down version relying primarily on piano, a slower temple and a single male voice is fantastic. Prior to this version the consensus favored Placebo's version but I don't think that consensus will hold for long.
