Team amber search and rescue
Search and Rescue by Gail Anderson-DargatzWhen a young woman goes missing on a nature trail, small-town journalist Claire Abbott is first on the scene, as usual. The clues to the womans whereabouts are misleading, but Claire has a sixth sense--what the fire chief calls a radar for crime. Trusting her intuition, Claire insists that the search and rescue team look elsewhere for clues to the womans disappearance. When they fail to follow up on her lead, she pursues it on her own, embarking on a snowy chase up a mountainside that puts herself and others in danger. Shes more than just a journalist chasing a story. Claire is determined to do the right thing at any cost.
Search and Rescue is the first novel in a series of mysteries featuring journalist and sleuth Claire Abbott.

An article in the local Des Moines newspaper on a wilderness Search and Rescue Team around the same time sparked his interest further and inspired him to become a Canine Handler. With experience from Boy Scouts and the fire service, he felt confident his skillset would easily make his dream of partnering with a Search Dog a reality. Search Dog Hank, a non SDF Search Dog, was partnered with Scott for 11 years and ready to retire, and Scott remained ready for a new partner as he continues his journey as a handler. Previously named Charlee, Amber was renamed in honor of a local woman named Amber Skall, who tragically succumbed to cancer at the age of 33 on February 10, Amber spent her last months here at SDF perfecting her skills and has proved ready and eager to join the workforce!

Amber Dubois would have celebrated her 21st birthday soon. On the eve of that, Amber, the yellow lab rescue dog with a heartbreaking backstory, was recovering nicely this week from a second knee surgery to get her back on her feet and back to saving lives. Now it was time for the right knee to follow suit. The fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. Amber, the search rescue dog, was a member in good standing of Team Amber Rescue until felled by knee trouble earlier this year.
