Hey, our system thinks you're a bot.

But ultimately it kind of does fit. The song is entirely autobiographical. The meaning for me, is just being entirely upfront and honest. Performing it is not so easy, nor was shooting the video. It was certified Gold in Italy. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.

I think it's about maybe a friend or family with selective mutism which is where they only speak to mainly only there mom and dad cause they are scared and just can't speak when others are around that's why in her lyrics she is saying "you've spent your life time STUCK in silence afraid you will say something wrong " and other lyrics like that it seem she like all the lyrics are based on that. I think that she is trying to get people to stand up for what they believe in. She is trying to encourage people to not sit in silence and to speak out. However she could also be speaking about people who may be shy or anxious about a hidden talent they might have and would prefer not to share. The same way she may be speaking to people who have something really important to say, but don't want to. Whatever she may be trying to say it is a heartfelt and song that has an emotional effect on you.

Posted on April 23, Beautiful, right? I personally think this song has more a deeper meaning and impact than Love the Way You Lie, or at least it should. I think this song is all about sticking up for who you are. I like this because I love Emeli, but also because of its meaning. I think we all need to be reminded of our purpose in the world and that what we have to say matters; what we have to say might even change the world.
