Lost Girls: Book One by Alan Moore

Lost Girls Discussion by Alan Moore

Amazon criticized for deranking 'adult' books

A blog about books and publishing, aimed at both readers and writers. Listed by the Guardian in as one of the top ten literary blogs. It sounds absolutely fascinating. As one who loves graphic novels and thinks they are hugely underrated, and also really enjoyed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I think this sounds right up my street. I love it when people take liberties with historical characters, and having watched the recent film version of Peter Pan it is quite clear there is a lot of unexplored sexual tension going on with Wendy being on the cusp of womanhood etc, so I think it's a legitimate area to explore.

Recent move to delist from its sales ranking system gay and lesbian titles it deemed "adult" raises the ire of some who characterize the move as online censorship. Author Mark R. Probst wrote on his blog Sunday that he noticed the change a few days ago:. Probst, the author of a novel with gay characters in the Old West, said he was perplexed by the move and used his status as a publisher to contact Amazon for an explanation. He said he received the following response from an Amazon Advantage service representative:. Of course, being delisted from the rankings doesn't mean that the book giant has stopped selling the title; it just means that the title won't show up with a public sales ranking or in the best-seller lists--often a factor in how shoppers make their purchases.

Like something from an unbelievable parallel world where there were once comic publications exclusively for girls, this third jaw-dropping installment of Moore and O'Neill's astonishing swan-song takes us from a boarding school in Big Brother-dominated England to a civic ball with a Frankenstein …. Legendary swords clash atop the Paris Opera in , while almost a century later a declining London witnesses assassination attempts, summit meetings in Haggerston Park, and the catastrophic return of a s super-adventurer.
