Sure He does! Where else would we get ours, since we are made in His image, and a sense of humor is such a delightful gift? Humor, though, is culturally rooted with the exception of mother-in-law jokes, which are apparently universal in any culture on the planet! That's why most of us Westerners find it difficult to understand that Jesus was really a funny fellow. For instance, it's easy for us to imagine Him intoning solemnly, "Blind guides!
A : How can we his creatures think things are funny unless the whole idea came from God in the first place? I've never heard a sermon about God's sense of humor. Nor have I read a theology book that lists God's laughter as one of his immutable characteristics. But I think it is. And unless we see that side of God, I'm not sure we'll totally appreciate him. Think about his creation. Surely he made creatures such as the otter, dolphin, and penguin, just because they delighted him so much.
Does God have a sense of humor?
If God created man in His own image Genesis and we have the ability to enjoy humor or appreciate a joke, then it makes sense that God has a sense of humor as well! You could say we "inherited" it from our Heavenly Father. Take a look at some of the animals God created I'm looking at you, manatee , and it becomes pretty clear that God has created some funny-looking plants and animals too. And remember when God used a donkey to speak to Balaam Numbers ? We can definitely find examples of God having a sense of humor in the Bible.
