Four Reasons You Should Be Playing the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Open Beta
With a sequel firmly cementing its status as a series and not just a strange one-off, Garden Warfare continues to be an unexpected experience. The humorous tower-defense series that birthed the world and characters of Plants vs. Garden Warfare 2 fixes many of the problems that dragged down the first game, leading to a much fuller experience with lots of worthwhile new content. The core Garden Warfare 2 experience is mostly unchanged from the previous game. Every class on each side of the war has distinct abilities that players unleash to take out members of the opposing team, or defend points. Both the plants and zombies have new classes, alongside those returning from the previous game. The new classes have entertaining abilities like turning your opponent into a goat, or calling in a Titanfall-like mech for a temporary boost.

Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2
The Plants vs. Forget the typical, boring menu system — Garden Warfare 2 sports a hub zone called the Backyard Battleground, which parks plants and zombies in dueling fortresses that sit on opposite ends of the aptly named Zomburbia. Flag of Power is a King of the Hill-style challenge that finds you guarding a flagpole against waves upon waves of the opposition. Zombies proper! Six playable classes — three per side — are open to beta players. On the plant side, we have the frontal assault-focused Kernel Corn ; the tanky, damage-soaking Citron ; and the Rose support class which can turn enemy players into… goats!
The cast of characters has expanded in this sequel, from 8 to 14 playable characters not to mention the large number of costumes that each character can wear, which alter their playstyle. To fully capture the mood of each team, I decided to delve into each character and find the perfect song-mates, build all-star rosters, and square them off against each other. Sunflower — The Lifesaver. The seemingly happiest of bunch is the registered nurse for the group. The sunflower can giveth life and it can take it away. Peashooter — The Green Qbert. Chomper — The Undercover Crop.
