France - Walking from Lourdes to St Jean-Pied-de-Port on the Foothill Route
This is a scheduled train strike day. I had bought train tickets before I knew about the train strike. I have been looking online to find a bus service, but can't seem to find any bus connections between these two places that involve less than 3 buses. We do need to travel on that specific day, as we are meeting others in SJPDP and have accommodation booked along the Camino for the next few days. Or in fact, any way! Thanking you in advance for any suggestions.
I am planning on walking the Camino after I visit Lourdes. Trains run from Lourdes to Bayonne about once every two hours where you change for the branch line train to St Jean Pied de Port. Those latter trains are extremely irregular and run only four or five times each day. You can check times and fares at www. Also be aware that a landslide has closed the line between Bayonne and St Jean Pied de Port 'until further notice' and they are running buses instead of trains.
