BikeSafe – Police led motorcycle safety initiative
BikeSafe is available via most UK Police Forces and is aimed at improving motorcycle riding skills, whilst reducing the number of motorcycle casualties. Through workshops and observed rides, BikeSafe participants have the opportunity to uncover their own riding weaknesses, whilst learning how to improve their motorcycle riding skills. The purpose of this initiative is to empower riders to embrace the value of ongoing motorcycle training, whilst generally addressing a number of attitudes and riding behaviours that seem still to be at the route of unacceptable motorcycle accident statistics. In summary, BikeSafe is passionate about reducing motorcycle casualties, whilst helping riders to address their own vulnerability. It is a Police-led, UK-wide, post-test motorcycle safety scheme that allows motorcycle riders of all skill levels to ride with qualified Police riders, to be observed by them and to receive highly valuable motorcycle skills and safety feedback.
We believe that your course will only be as good as the instructor teaching you. Although there are many companies that offer advanced training we believe that few have the same caliber of staff. Most training courses will be conducted by our chief instructor and Director of training Mick Jones, however if this is not possible other instructors who are either serving or ex-Police officers and trained to the very highest standard will assist with training. They have undertaken work such as covert surveillance riding for the National and Regional Crime Squads, the Flying Squad as well as regular traffic duties. To attain these skills each have undertaken many weeks of intensive training and of course years of experience. It is this experience which means that several of our instructors are also assessors for the national Bikesafe rider safety scheme for Essex.
Our training is very intense and demanding for all levels of riding. Upon graduation from our civilian rider program, students can utilize the full potential of their motorcycles.
